Port Restrictions

GENERAL

  • Are there any restrictions on vessels whose previous port call was from COVID -19 high risk countries?
    • All trade vessels calling local ports will be requested to submit list of previous 10 port calls as well as crew list which specifies the sign on date and maritime health declaration. In addition, a form will be requested.
    • All trade vessels will go through temperature check and screening by port health
    • A 14 day quarantine might be imposed depending on cargo type, last 10 ports of call and terminal specific regulations. Please contact our local port agent for more information.
  • Are there any restrictions on crew who embarked from COVID -19 high risk countries or specific nationalities?
    • Crew change permitted?
      • No.
    • Shore leave permitted?
      • No.
  • Any other restrictions due to COVID - 19?
    • From 5th September international airports of Lagos and Abuja are open, however The Nigerian government banned 10 airlines from operating in its airspace.
      • Airlines approved for international flights in Lagos are British Airways, Delta, Emirates, Qatar Airways, Africa World Airlines (AWA) Ghana, Middle East, and Kenya Airways.
        • For Abuja, airlines allowed to operate international flights include British Airways, Emirates, Ethiopian, AWA Ghana, Middle East, Turkish, and Egypt Air....

Flight Restrictions

  • Passengers must have
    • a negative COVID-19 PCR test in English taken at most 48 hours before departure from the first embarkation point; or
    • a COVID-19 vaccination certificate showing that they were fully vaccinated at least 14 days before arrival. Vaccines accepted are: AstraZeneca (Covishield), AstraZeneca (SK Bioscience), AstraZeneca (Vaxzevria), Covaxin, Covovax, Janssen, Moderna (Spikevax), Nuvaxovid (Novavax), Pfizer-BioNTech (Comirnaty), Sinopharm, Sinovac, Sputnik Light and Sputnik V.
    • This does not apply to passengers younger than 18 years.
  • Passengers must obtain a 'Permit to Travel' before departure. The 'Permit to Travel' can be obtained at https://nitp.ncdc.gov.ng/ and must have a QR code.
